Ready for a Revolutionary Video Game Event?

It’s Time for ‘So You Think You Can Kill?!’
Imagine that it’s Aug. 30, one week after the launch of red-hot new release Deus Ex: Human Revolution. You power up the game in seconds on the OnLive platform and jump into the role of Adam Jensen, an ex-SWAT specialist whose mechanically augmented body gives him superhuman abilities. But there’s something else “superhuman” about this gaming experience: the very creators of the game are watching you live! You can hear them on voice chat. They’re commenting on your play. They’re cheering you on and tracking your decisions in a game that’s all about choices and the path you take. And if you do something truly spectacular, they’ll give you a special prize-packed accolade like the “Most Aggro Award” (best use of aggression) or the Stealth Award (best use of stealth).
Too bad there’s no technology to pull off something like that. Wait. Actually, there’s an OnLive Arena for that!
Oh yeah, on Aug. 30 from 6-9 PM (ET), you can join thousands of gamers and the Eidos developer team in celebrating the OnLive launch of Deus Ex Human Revolution in a one-of-a-kind spectating/playing event. You never know who might start spectating your play or what you might win. What you do know is just by playing Deus Ex: Human Revolution during the big event, you’ll automatically be entered to win a Grand Prize trip for two to Montreal (including airfare and a three-night hotel stay) where you’ll meet the game’s developers. This is what it means to play games the OnLive way.
Here’s how you get in on the fun:
- Make sure you set your permissions to allow spectators to chat with you. For instructions on how to set these permissions, read the “How do I control whether spectators can chat with me while I’m playing?” section of this knowledgebase article. The Deus Ex: Human Revolution developers will be contacting players by voice chat, so make sure you can hear ‘em!
- Play Deus Ex: Human Revolution on Aug. 30 during the hours of 6-9 PM (ET). The Eidos-Montreal Deus Ex team will be using Player Tags EMdev1, EMdev2, EMdev3, and they’ll be watching for gameplay greatness worthy of prizes. Make sure to add them as friends so as that improves your chance of being spectated. Here are the awards that will be given out:
- Stealth Award (Best use of stealth)
- Non-violence Award (best use of social enhancements)
- Most “Aggro” Award (best use of violence and aggression)
- Hackiest Hacker Award (best at the Hacking mini-game)
- Secret Path Award (best use of an alternate path)
- Ouch Award (most painful death)
If you’re selected as the winner of one of the awards above, you’ll get an Eidos Deus Ex prize package that includes a signed poster, t-shirt, messenger bag and other cool stuff. You can check out the terms and conditions HERE.
This is going to be an event to remember, and it’s something special we’re doing for you, the OnLive Community. So, be there alongside me on Aug. 30, 6-9 PM (ET). And remember that EVERYONE who plays Deus Ex: Human Revolution during this event is automatically entered to win the Grand Prize trip/meet-and-greet. We’ll announce the Grand Prize winner on Sept. 6. See you at “So You Think You Can Kill?!”
